My daughter and I just finished the Hershey, PA 10K on April 2, 2016.  My daughter had a PR day!

My daughter and I just returned from the runDisney Princess Half Marathon and Glass Slipper Challenge.   This the the third year that we have participated in the Princess Weekend at Disney.  We always submit our times from past races to get our assigned corrals.  Whoever gets the lowest corral, the other moves down to that corral so that we can run the race together.   Having your daughter as your running buddy is a wonderful experience.  Being able to run is a Disney race is yet another magical experience.

However, with over 18,000 runners, the race begins under the cloak of darkness.  You are bused to the ends of earth (so it seems), before you can begin your race.  Nothing like getting up at 3:00AM on vacation. The next obstacle are those runners who just don't seem to understand the concept of: runners on the left, walkers on the right.   I have total respect for walkers and interval run/walkers, but when you are three abreast, you prevent anyone who has a faster pace from passing you.

The memories and magic are worth every cent!

I just found some photos from 2012.  This race was in Harrisburg, PA.  It was cold and rainy.  I miss those Shadow Genius Saucony sneakers!

Run Disney

Getting ready to run in the Glass Slipper Challenge.  Nothing like planning a vacation around running.  My daughter and I will run the 10K on Saturday and the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday.  This will be the third year that we will be running in the Princess Half.

Second Place at the Tomato Trot.  So glad I am in a new age group.

As the temperature here in Pennsylvania begins to get colder,  it gets harder for me to motivate myself to brave the cold winds and run.  That all changed for me as I watched the documentary of the August 2008 tragedy on  the K2 Mountain.

I cannot imagine how some of those climbers survived.  Their shear determination, survivals skills, and knowledge kept some of those climbers alive.  Some survived 60 hours in the 'Death Zone."

After watching that, I think 10 miles of running in temperatures in the teens in no real feat.

Everything in perspective!
